Admissions Process

We welcome applications for entry into Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Pre-Reception. We look for young children who will respond to the school's opportunities and values, and who will contribute with their natural curiosity, enthusiasm, and emerging talents. As part of the admissions process, we invite children to spend time with us – to explore, engage in play, and take part in age-appropriate group and individual activities. There are no written or online formal assessments. This visit helps us get to know your child in a warm and nurturing environment and gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Our main point of entry to the Junior School is Reception at age 4+. We seek children who will embrace the school’s values and thrive in our dynamic and engaging learning environment. Children are invited to spend time with us so we can observe how they play, interact, and respond to activities both individually and in a group. There are no formal written or online assessments. This relaxed visit allows us to get to know your child and helps families gain a better understanding of life at Alleyn’s Hampstead. For entry in September 2026, for example, children applying for Reception should be born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022. We do occasionally have places available in Year 1 and 2 if families relocate out of the area. If you are interested in an occasional place, the entry process for 5+ and 6+ is the same as that into Reception.

Our main point of entry will be 7+ into Year 3, but as we open our new school, applications are also welcome for Years 4 to 6 in 2026. Applications for Years 4, 5 and 6 follow the same process as for 7+ entry. Children are invited to spend the day with us, completing the same blend of online and written assessments, taking part in group activities, and engaging in informal interviews. This holistic approach allows us to understand each child's academic strengths, social confidence, and readiness to thrive within our supportive and ambitious school community.

Applications for Years 4, 5 and 6 follow the same process as for 7+ entry. Children are invited to spend the day with us, completing the same blend of online and written assessments, taking part in group activities, and engaging in informal interviews. Our 11+ admissions process is designed to help us get to know your child and ensure they will thrive in our dynamic and nurturing environment at Alleyn’s Hampstead. Below is our Admissions timeline:

We are looking for curious, engaged children who will make the most of the opportunities on offer and who demonstrate alignment with our ROCCK values. Our bespoke selection process includes an online assessment in Mathematics, English, and non-verbal reasoning. These assessments have been carefully designed to identify potential and support children who are ready to flourish in our school community. All applicants are invited to attend a taster day, where they will take part in a carousel of experiences, meet future classmates, and gain a sense of life at Alleyn’s Hampstead. The interview is an informal conversation with a senior member of staff and provides an opportunity for us to explore a child's individual interests, character, and alignment with our values. We may sometimes have occasional places for entry into Years 8, 9 and 10 at 12+, 13+ and 14+.  Entry into these year groups follow the same process as outlined above.

We are looking for engaged, ambitious students who demonstrate intellectual curiosity, strong interpersonal skills, and a clear alignment with our ROCCK values. To study A levels at Alleyn’s Hampstead, students must achieve a minimum of Grade 6 at GCSE in their chosen A level subjects (or closely related subjects). For Mathematics and Sciences, a Grade 7 or higher is required. Below is our Admissions timeline:

Our 16+ selection process includes:

• A one-to-one interview, designed to assess a candidate's alignment with our ROCCK values, their strengths and passions, and readiness for A Level study in their chosen subjects.

These interviews offer a valuable opportunity for us to get to know each candidate beyond their grades, and to ensure they will thrive both academically and personally within our Sixth Form.
