Welcome from the Head

There is a moment in every great lesson when something clicks; a pupil who wasn’t sure that they could, suddenly discovers that they can. That moment — sometimes quiet, sometimes surprising, always worth working for — is what drew me to teaching, and it is what drives everything we do at Alleyn’s Hampstead.

I am coming to this role after five years as part of the Senior Leadership Team at Alleyn’s School in Dulwich, helping to define and shape what we recognise as an true Alleyn’s education and working to spread this across the growing Alleyn’s Schools Group. I know our values — Respect, Opportunity, Curiosity, Courage and Kindness — not as words on a wall, but as a living culture. Bringing that culture here feels like both a privilege and an adventure.

An Alleyn’s education is academically ambitious — but it is not a hothouse. We believe the best outcomes come not from pressure, but from understanding: helping every pupil know themselves, manage challenge, and discover what they are truly capable of.

Alongside a rigorous curriculum, our AiQ programme prepares pupils for a rapidly changing world; AEQ supports their wellbeing and personal development; and our All In co-curricular offer ensures every child has the chance to find their thing.

What matters most, though, is not the programmes or the terminology. It’s the pupils.

Mr Aidan Sproat-Clements, Head

Every child here should be excited by their learning — and should leave us not just with greater knowledge, but with a greater thirst for knowledge.

This is what an Alleyn's education is all about.

I hope you’ll come and visit us, and see it for yourself.
